The third annual Hackney WickED arts festival amused and beguiled thousands from the start on Friday 30 July through to its climax on Sunday 1 August. The event – larger even than last year’s bash – featured dozens of open studios and warehouses where several hundred of Hackney Wick’s resident artists showed off their latest creations.

Festival-goers also enjoyed dozens of planned and impromptu live entertainments, including a panoply of different bands, cabaret, comedy, outdoor cinema, several food and flea markets and even a regatta on the River Lea.

Interactive installations in several of the studios provided festival-goers with a variety of creative experiences, from the eerie to the sublime.

A 48-hour radio station provided additional musical background, as well as practical information on the ever-changing kaleidoscope of official and unofficial festival goings-on.
