A man has been charged with criminal damage after windows were smashed and equipment damaged in an incident at Hackney Citizens Advice Bureau (HCAB).

Alexandre Hortencio, 44, of Brooksby’s Walk has been charged with two counts of criminal damage.

The Mare Street bureau was forced to close its doors on Friday 21 November following the incident which took place the previous afternoon.

In a statement, HCAB said: “A resident caused very serious damage to main windows, reception windows and other equipment.”

“The Police had to be called and acted very quickly in subduing and arresting the person.
