Police enquiries are ongoing after 19-year-old was stabbed on Barnabas Road

A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital on Tuesday evening after being stabbed near Homerton overground station.

Police were called to the scene at 8.30pm following the incident on Barnabas Road.

Part of the road next to the entrance to the London Overground station was closed by the police, who asked the public via Twitter to avoid the area.

The victim was in a stable condition on Wednesday and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police said no arrests have been made as their enquiries continue.
